indomitable women of the Keiskamma River bank in South Africa have
drawn on impressive reserves of community spirit and worked together
to produce the Keiskamma Altarpiece. Documenting traumatic experiences
of poverty and HIV it is testament to their courage and artistry.

National Knitting Week is fine but Hove Museum realise it’s
hard to fit all that knitting fun into a mere seven days. Instead
they are hosting a month of events. Knitters of all levels are welcome

started as a sale in British-born Lara Matthew’s garden turned
into a must-visit showcase for upcoming designers. Thread celebrates
its fifth birthday this year and around 3,000 visitors are expected
